Corporate & Litigation Advocate Featured

Our client, a leading insurance company, is seeking a Corporate and Litigation Advocate to
support the Company Secretary in corporate governance and litigation matters. The ideal
candidate will be responsible for: Managing insurance-related litigation, deputizing the Company
Secretary, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing internal legal advisory.
This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work across both Governance and litigation functions in
a reputable firm.

1. Job Description…

Litigation

• Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, and tribunals
• Handle commercial, civil, employment, constitutional, and judicial review litigatio
• Draft, review, and file pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and other legal documents for
  client cases
• Conduct legal research and case analysis to advise clients on the best legal strategies
• Attend court sessions, mentions, hearings, rulings, and judgments on behalf of clients
• Engage in negotiations, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for client
  disputes
• Corporate & Governance Advisor
• Provide corporate governance and compliance advisory to clients
• Assist clients with board secretarial duties, including board meetings and statutory filings
• Ensure clients comply with the Companies Act, 2015, the Insurance Act, and other
  regulatory laws
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, MOUs, and shareholder
  agreements for clients.
• Conduct corporate due diligence and compliance audits for clients.
• Advise clients on mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory & Compliance Support.

• Assist clients in obtaining and maintaining business licenses, regulatory approvals, and
  statutory compliance.
• Represent clients in matters involving BRS, KRA, CMA, IRA, and other regulatory bodies.
• Advise clients on intellectual property (IP) registration, including trademarks, patents, and
  copyrights.
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes that impact client businesses and provide proactive
  advisory.

Client Relationship & Legal Advisory

• Provide strategic legal solutions to clients on dispute resolution, risk management, and
  compliance.
• Offer legal opinions and advisory on commercial transactions, employment matters, and
  regulatory frameworks.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships by offering timely and practical legal
  services.
